What Can You Do with Corian? Real Projects, Real Possibilities

Since opening our new showroom in East Kilbride, one question we hear time and again is:

“What can you actually do with Corian®?”

It’s a fair question, especially if you’ve only ever seen solid surface materials in a small sample size or on a flat display. But the answer is far more exciting than most people expect. Corian® is one of the most versatile, practical, and elegant surfaces available for modern kitchens. At Bespoke Kitchens and Interiors, we’re showing customers exactly how far it can go—from seamless worktops to curved breakfast bars and custom-finished details.

This blog explores what Corian® can do, featuring real examples from recent customer projects and showroom displays to help you envision the possibilities in your own home.

What Is Corian®? A Quick Overview

Corian® is a solid surface material made from a blend of natural minerals and acrylic resin. It’s non-porous, durable, and can be joined without visible seams. This makes it both aesthetically pleasing and hygienic, making it ideal for kitchens and bathrooms.

Unlike natural stone, which is limited by the size and shape of quarried slabs, Corian® can be formed and joined to suit your design. That opens up a huge range of possibilities that simply aren’t achievable with more rigid materials like granite or quartz.

Seamless Worktops That Flow Beautifully

One of the standout features of Corian® is the seamless join. With specialist fabrication and installation, your worktop appears as one continuous piece—even across long stretches of surface or around corners. This gives a clean, modern look that’s especially well-suited to open-plan kitchens.

In our showroom and recent projects, we’ve installed:

  • Long runs of Corian White Jasmine, with no joins to interrupt the flow

  • Integrated sinks and coved splashbacks, eliminating harsh lines and grout traps

  • Drop-down breakfast bars, flowing naturally from the main surface

Every detail is considered to maintain that seamless finish.

Shaped, Curved, and Customised – Made for You

Corian® is thermoformable, meaning it can be heated and shaped into curved and sculptural forms. This opens the door to entirely bespoke design.

Some of the custom elements we’ve produced recently include:

  • A curved-end island, adding softness to the centre of a family kitchen

  • A floating corner shelf made from matching Corian®, carries the design theme across the space

  • Upstands and downstands in the same material, creating a strong visual identity with no clash of finishes

We work closely with clients to understand the way they live and cook, and then tailor the Corian® installation to suit that lifestyle.

Easy to Live With – Practical Benefits

Beyond its beauty, Corian® is built for everyday use.

  • Non-porous – It doesn’t absorb liquids or harbour bacteria

  • Easy to clean – Warm soapy water is all you need for most messes

  • Repairable – Minor scratches or marks can often be buffed out, restoring the surface

  • Heat resistant (with care) – Suitable for most kitchen uses, though we always recommend using a heat pad

This makes Corian® especially appealing for family kitchens and busy homes where both looks and performance matter.

Real Project Spotlight: Corian White Jasmine in East Kilbride

One of our standout customer projects involved a full kitchen in Corian White Jasmine. The customer wanted a clean, bright finish with smooth transitions and a cohesive design. We created:

  • A large peninsula with curved corners

  • A fully integrated sink set within the same Corian slab

  • Matching splashbacks and upstands

  • A tailored wall shelf helping tie the kitchen together visually

The result is a bright, seamless space that’s as practical as it is stylish—proving how much Corian can do in the hands of a skilled designer and fabricator.
